What have I been doing? The usual, little that needs to be put up here. Just one thing really: I'm engaged. Whoo! The wedding is still two years off, but after four years Sean and I have decided to make it official and tie the knot. You might be invited, ask if you're interested.
My writing's been mostly off key lately... I'm not satisfied with anything beyond simple storyboarding and toss it out. On top of that, I've never been that good at holding on to or sticking with my storyboards... so it's all pretty useless.
Help me out; give me some direction! I've figured it'd be best to get back on track with one of my serials (ie Jack's Story, Poltergust, imp... yadda), but like I said, I'm not satisfied with it. Tell me which one you'd most like to see move forward, give me some ideas maybe. It's shown before that a little push gets my scribble muscle going again.

May 1st - Faaaaxx! I have a parasite. Went hiking this weekend with Sean and my kid brother Gabe (who did awesome by the way, the whole stretch with very little suckery). Got scraped up and sore of course, but I also picked up a special guest; a little tick gnabbed me on the side. Funny thing is I never noticed it until the next day, figured it was a scratch and never checked. Actually, I never noticed it at all, Sean did.
Little bugger was on the left side of my chest looking like he was boring right for my heart. Sean showed him... but being the butthead he sometimes is, he just pulled the thing out and it's head came off. Sigh. Bloody thing is still there. I guess it's a good thing I was seeing the doctor this week anyway?
On a less disgusting note! I've figured out something I want to write, a couple things. They're just playarounds really (do I do anything else? hm) but one might turn out dev-worthy. I'm pulling up all the characters I've ever made, liked, and played for some period of time and throwing them into a convention/conference about getting my ass in gear. It's in the format of a play... I have no idea where it's going to go, but I'm having a ball with it. I highly recommend the exercise.
The other thing I'm going to try is another play, where all the lines are one word and the stage direction is heavy. I'm expecting it to be harder than I expect. Infinite paradox, yer-BUGGER!
May 2nd - Roleplayers, check out [link] It will be your friend. Oldies but goodies for hubs: New Orleans Gate, The Basilika, and New York City, a modern fantasy/occult, medieval fantasy church, and Marvel Universe hub respectively. I'm not in NOG anymore, but it's high caliber play. New hubs of note: Dharati and Mimir's Well. The first is another by solice, the creator of NOG, who is an absolute sweetheart and excellent RPer and mod. The second is a modern Norse fantasy epic, and mine! Check it out!
Today's special: [link] Edgeworth is sexeh. I picked up this game for my kid brother this week... it's fun to watch him spaz over little grey squares.
May 4th - Wa-hoo! Chapter one of my MSN transmutation emostory is completeco! I'll be tapping it in today if the RP is a bit dry. Also, my cast list for the play that's supposed to light a fire under my ass is done, plus the first scene. That'll be going up too; anyone who's RPed with me should get a kick out of it. 35 characters, FTW!? I was surprised... oh, right. You think I should de-furre most of the characters (except Jack and Lull, of course)? Lemme know.
More goodness! I got locked out of my place yesterday (accidentally this time, haha) so I spent the day being a hippie and wandering around town. Stops of note were Landsdowne campus... I managed to find J, my former playwriting prof. We chatted a bit and she pointed me towards an Advanced Lit. course as well as a week long workshop that'll be going on in June. Should be sweet! Actually, one of the mentors there works at U-Vic... think I'll zing over that was pretty soon and get the lowdown. And! Turns out one of the other guards at the graving dock used to write sci-fi. We're looking into pulling together a little workshop group of our own. His comment on the emostory: 'You've got a talent for description, somewhat like Dickens... I'm biased, though, and was wondering when something was going to happen. It was disappointing when nothing much went on with the waitress. The setting might be off too; people don't talk like that in bars. The banker wasn't gushing at all.' To which I said something like: 'Of course it was disappointing! That's the point. They'll meet again, I promised them that. As for the odd conversation... well, you might've read Spider, but sit down with the Callahan Chronicles a while. I'm going for something like that.'
Mitch is such a brat. <3
Today's Special: [link] For the lulz!
May 8th - A good weekend. Some yardwork, a sunburn, a day at the skate park being weird (ask me if your WTF about it) and some Babylon 5 to seal the deal. Sean picked it up while the crew was checking out HMV and such at Mayfair. Speaking of... Matt's accepted to be my best man. Well, he already had, but we did it face to face last weekend. So I told him I'm committed to hassling him about getting in gear with his fiance, just a bit... maybe the three of us could work on some music. I think his girl is a singer, so maybe I could do up some lyrics. Neato. Back to the HMV thing, I got the source for Disturbed's Land of Confusion... same title, but by the 70's band Genesis. Check it out. Pay attention to the lines near the end... a few words were changed to make the Metal version somewhat more pissed off. Anyway.
I'm teaching my bro a little Bushido! I whip sticks and such around all the time, and he's been showing some interest. He wanted to film it (he got a cam a few months ago), so we hashed out a quick routine. He even wanted to do a slo-mo first person bit! It was great. He'll post it somewhere I'm sure... I'll keep you posted.
Today's Special: 'Zen is not about thinking. It not about meditation. It is not about peace. It is about security within one's own mind, the confidence to take one's desires and act upon them with confidence and wisdom. Thought and action must flow as one. This is what Zen is about.'
